Special Events

Music at Queens is back in 2010!
From 1999-2007 this popular concert series made creative use of the church's magnificent building and acoustics, providing another affordable venue for rising stars, as well as established musical groups. The wheel chair accessible sanctuary seats 600 persons and boasts a grand piano and 45 rank Casavant Freres Pipe Organ.
Our concert line up for 2010 included Concert Harpist Deborah Nyack, and Boris Konovalov, Canadian Russian Pianist, in April; and The Mayflower Choir, 100 voices from the Netherlands, and The Erato Ensemble, Art Song ensemble, in May. Please watch our web page for further concerts in the Fall.
All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available from the church office or at the door. Adults $20 Seniors/Students $15 and Children $10. For more information call our office at 604-522-1606, check our website, or Music at Queens on Facebook.
If your group is interested in being part of this concert series in 2010 please contact Virginia at vbarteluk@telus.net

Social activities
These include potluck suppers, pancake breakfasts and a Christmas potluck and carol sing. We also have a Bridge Club and members can check the notice board by the gym, or watch the Queens News insert for a listing of future dates.
For further information on any of these activities, please call the office.
You are welcome to our Church, and we hope you will get to know us. If interested, there are opportunities to know us by volunteering your ideas or helping with the November Fall Fair, with elements of our Sunday service, or by attending a social activity or event.
Call the office for further information on volunteering or attending our events!
The men's group is composed of dedicated men in the Property Committee, who perform a great variety of repair jobs and projects, saving the church many thousands of dollars. We also have members who help with the Community Lunch program, the Music at Queens Concert Series, the Fall Fair, garage sales, operate the sound system in church, and assist at many church functions.
UCW units meet regularly for worship and fellowship, and to undertake a variety of tasks for the church. United Church women's activities include an annual luncheon, various teas and refreshments for meetings, coffee hour, participation in the Wednesday Community Lunch program, the annual Fall Fair and in many other social and fund-raising events at Queens.
